Evoking the Aurora Borealis, the evening features a rich programme of Norwegian folklore and fantasy. Grieg’s Symphonic Dances open the concert. Pianist Alexander Malofeev, a true sensation, performs Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A Minor with unmatched virtuosity and poetic depth. The programme concludes in a fairy-tale universe with music from Grieg’s Peer Gynt. This is perfectly suited to conductor Tabita Berglund and the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, a leading Scandinavian ensemble known for its clear, transparent, and deeply rooted sound.
