Friends' activity: Closed rehearsal of 'Orphée et Eurydice' at OBV

The iconic aria J’ai perdu mon Eurydice from Gluck’s Orphée et Eurydice is etched into the collective memory. In his powerful music drama, the composer proves himself a master of controlled emotion. Gluck bids farewell to the bravura arias and complex plot twists of Baroque opera. OBV presents Hector Berlioz’s 1859 adaptation, which is anything but a mere copy of the original, but full-blooded French opera with additional music. Maestro Francesco Corti, who staged a fiery Don Giovanni last season, once again guarantees thrilling music drama on the razor's edge.
